Changes to our PD structure for 2016.

In order to help you all meet the requirements for maintaining a proficient standard of accreditation, we are making some changes.

1. All of our current 2 hour after school PD sessions have now been aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

This means:

  • Each course has clearly identified standards and descriptors.
  • Each course has clearly identified the amount of hours that can be credited.
  • Each participant will receive a letter identifying attendance hours, standards and descriptors that can be used for your accreditation.
  • Each course can easily be used for your 50 TEACHER IDENTIFIED course hours.
  • Participants will receive 5 SMART Notebook pages that can be used in your classroom upon completion of the course. These pages will come from course activities and information.

2. All of our current and future courses will be submitted to BOSTES for registration.

This means:
  • Each course has clearly identified standards and descriptors.
  • Each course has clearly identified the amount of hours that can be credited.
  • Each participant will receive a letter identifying attendance hours, standards and descriptors that can be used for your accreditation.
  • Participants will receive 5 SMART Notebook pages that can be used in your classroom upon completion of the course. These pages will come from course activities and information.
  • Each course, ONCE APPROVED can easily be used for your 50 REGISTERED course hours.
  • Please note – approval for each submission can take up to 3 months. This process will be ongoing and will not happen immediately.

3. This year we will be releasing whole day PD sessions.

This means:
  • As with all of our other courses, these will be aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • These courses will be submitted to BOSTES for registration. Initially though they may start as teacher identified hours prior to BOSTES registration.
